Truck overturns, blocks Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, causing long delays

A truck collided with a median barrier and overturned, blocking both directions of the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, leading to traffic jams stretching for several kilometers on the morning of 13/9.

Around 4h30, a truck was traveling on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway in the north-south direction. When it reached the section passing through Ham Liem commune, the vehicle suddenly crashed into the concrete median barrier.

The impact caused the truck to overturn, straddling the median barrier with its body blocking both lanes of traffic. Vehicles could not pass the accident scene, resulting in traffic congestion stretching for several kilometers in both directions.

Traffic Police Team No. 6, under the Traffic Police Department, arrived at the scene to redirect and manage traffic. Some vehicles were instructed to exit the expressway at the Km215 interchange and divert to National Route 1 to alleviate congestion.

Authorities then mobilized a crane to clear the scene. By approximately 6h50, the truck was craned back and moved close to the median barrier, creating space for vehicles in both directions to pass sequentially.

"Vehicles can now pass the accident site, and the damaged truck is being towed off the expressway," a patrol force representative stated.

No casualties were reported in the accident. Authorities are investigating the cause.
