Reigning V-League champions Cong An Ha Noi (CAHN) demonstrated dominance over National Cup holders Cong An TP HCM (CA TP HCM) at a packed Hang Day Stadium. The home side proved to be a cohesive unit, while the visitors appeared as an unfinished project under new Australian coach Arthur Diles.

Four days after Vietnam's triumph in the ASEAN Cup 2026, both sides registered 10 national team players to play. CAHN handed the captain's armband to Le Pham Thanh Long, while the opposing side gave it to Le Giang Patrik, named the best goalkeeper of the ASEAN Cup. However, the 90 minutes at Hang Day proved to be a disappointing experience for the Slovakian-Vietnamese goalkeeper, who conceded 5 goals, two more than his total during the Southeast Asian tournament.
