The WPA Men's 10-Ball World Championship returns to TP HCM for the second consecutive time, offering a substantial total prize fund of 500,000 USD (approximately 13 billion VND). The champion cueist will claim 80,000 USD (around 2 billion VND). The tournament, organized by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA), the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the Vietnam Billiards & Snooker Federation (VBSF), and the Ho Chi Minh City Billiards & Snooker Federation (HBSF), is set to run from 19/9 to 26/9 at Phu Tho Indoor Stadium.
This prestigious event will feature nearly 200 cueists from 40 countries and territories. The 10-ball format is renowned for its difficulty, demanding absolute precision and strategic thinking. The element of luck, governed by call-shot rules, is completely eliminated, placing a premium on skill and competitive spirit.

Vietnam's top pool player, Duong Quoc Hoang, known as "Hoang Sao", is considered a strong contender for the title. Reflecting on his past performances, Quoc Hoang told VnExpress, "I have participated in this tournament three times; the first time I was eliminated early, the second time I reached the round of 32. Last year, playing at home, I made it to the top 16. Therefore, with thorough preparation and my own progress, I hope to improve my performance this time." Other prominent Vietnamese cueists competing include Luong Duc Thien, Pham Phuong Nam, Nguyen Anh Tuan, and Chu Viet Hoang.
In addition to the main 10-ball world championship, the event will host two other tournaments. The Poison Saigon Women's 9-Ball Open, scheduled from 21/9 to 25/9, features a total prize fund of 90,000 USD (over 2.3 billion VND). Concurrently, the Box Billiards Mixed Doubles Open, running from 19/9 to 23/9, offers a total prize fund of 111,000 USD (2.8 billion VND). This doubles format promises excitement, requiring absolute synergy and flexible tactics from the paired cueists.
