"This is a huge disappointment. I don't know what happened and have nothing to say," Szoboszlai told Sky Sports after the match. "For this to happen in the final minute, it has happened countless times this season."

The Hungarian star warned Liverpool must quickly improve their form, otherwise, they should only be content with a spot in next season's European conference league. "We need to wake up, because if we keep playing like this, we should only be satisfied with the conference league. I truly don't understand why this is happening," he said.
At Anfield on 15/3, Szoboszlai gave Liverpool the lead with a free-kick in the 18th minute. The Hungarian midfielder has scored four of the 16 free-kick goals in the Premier League this season. However, Liverpool then squandered opportunities and paid the price, allowing Richarlison to score in the final minute of regular time.
This was Liverpool's 8th goal conceded from the 90th minute onwards in the Premier League this season, their worst record in a single season, surpassing the seven goals conceded in the 2010-2011 season.
Szoboszlai believed Liverpool played well in the first half and controlled the game, as Tottenham created few dangerous opportunities beyond a couple of headers. However, in the second half, the hosts failed to maintain their control. "We will sit down together. This is the most difficult period, but the whole team must stay united," Szoboszlai stated.
After the final whistle, many Liverpool players left the field looking dejected as fans booed. Szoboszlai said he did not hear the boos but understood the fans' disappointment. "We are not playing as expected. But they should also be behind the team, supporting us. Last season, when we won the league with four games to spare, everyone was very happy," he said.
Similarly, coach Arne Slot found the fans' frustration understandable. "It's a completely normal reaction. When the team you support consistently drops points against opponents they shouldn't, and it happens repeatedly in the final seconds of a match, everyone feels disappointed," he said.
The Dutch manager acknowledged that this feeling came not only from the spectators but also from the coaching staff and players. "Fans have witnessed this too many times compared to what they are used to. Therefore, their expression of disappointment is understandable. I, the players, and the supporters all feel it clearly," he stated.
Liverpool is currently 5th in the Premier League with 49 points, two points behind Aston Villa and one point ahead of Chelsea FC. This position is likely still enough for Liverpool to secure a Champions League spot next season. But Slot wants Liverpool to immediately focus on the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Galatasaray, also at Anfield on 18/3. The Merseyside club is trailing 0-1 after the first leg.
