On the evening of 11/1, following their 3-2 victory in the Spanish Super Cup final, Barcelona players traditionally lined up to applaud as Real Madrid received their silver medals. However, Mbappe subsequently displayed an unusual, visibly annoyed attitude, waving his hand to urge his teammates to leave at least three times.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Mbappe advised his teammates not to reciprocate the applause. While some Real Madrid players complied, others still demonstrated respect for their opponents.

"Mbappe displayed the attitude of a sore loser", Mundo Deportivo wrote. "Real Madrid did not show respect for their biggest opponent. This caused outrage."
On social media platform X, many criticized Mbappe's lack of class. Others mocked the French star for leaving PSG to join Real Madrid, only to consistently lose to Barcelona in finals. "I think PSG coach Luis Enrique saw through Mbappe from the start. He is a sore loser", one user commented.
Since joining Real Madrid in summer 2024, Mbappe has only secured the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. Subsequently, the French star has faced a series of defeats against Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final (2-5), La Liga, last season's Copa del Rey final (2-3), and this season's Spanish Super Cup final (2-3).
Before joining Real Madrid, Mbappe was one of the world's most successful young players. He won the 2018 World Cup and the 2021 Nations League with the French national team, along with 14 titles at PSG. The 27-year-old forward also received the 2017 Golden Boy award, was Ligue 1's top scorer six consecutive times, and the 2022 World Cup top scorer.
Despite not accumulating many titles with Real Madrid, Mbappe has still made significant individual contributions. In 84 matches, he scored 73 goals, becoming La Liga's top scorer and winning the European Golden Boot.
In the recent final, Mbappe entered the match in the 76th minute due to injury. He did not score but was instrumental in Frenkie De Jong receiving a red card in the 90+1 minute. Barcelona secured the win with goals from Raphinha (36th, 73rd minutes) and Robert Lewandowski (45+4 minute), while Vinicius (45+2 minute) and Goncalo Garcia (45+7 minute) scored Real Madrid's two goals.
