The award was announced on 23/5, a day after Felix and Ronaldo secured the Saudi Pro League title for Al Nassr.
Felix made a significant impact, scoring 20 goals and leading the league with 13 assists. The Portuguese forward excelled in his debut season for Al Nassr, having joined from Chelsea for 57 million USD on a five-year contract.

Al Nassr posted a photo congratulating Joao Felix on winning the 2025-2026 Saudi Pro League Player of the Season award.
"Playing football makes me happy, especially when I'm in my preferred position," the 26-year-old stated after the season finale. "The coach placed immense trust in me. He wanted me to dictate play, support the collective, and be a central figure for the team. When that role is fulfilled, everything operates smoothly."
Al Nassr coach Jorge Jesus also earned the Coach of the Season title. After guiding the team to the championship, he confirmed his departure from the club.
"This victory belongs to everyone, especially Cristiano, as he had not yet secured a title in Saudi Arabia," the 71-year-old coach stated. "I only accepted this coaching role because I promised Cristiano I would help him become a champion. We achieved that, and now it is time for me to depart. This was my final match with Al Nassr."
Ronaldo contributed 28 goals and two assists across 30 Saudi Pro League matches this season. He finished third in the goal-scoring charts, trailing Ivan Toney of Al Ahli (32 goals) and Julian Quinones of Al Qadisiya (33 goals). Consequently, CR7 could not secure the league's top scorer award for the third consecutive season, having previously scored 25 goals in 2024-2025 and 35 goals in 2023-2024.

Despite missing the individual accolade, Ronaldo secured his inaugural team title with Al Nassr: the Saudi Pro League championship. This marks the Portuguese superstar's first club honor since the 2021 Italy Cup with Juventus.
Ronaldo will take a short break before joining the Portugal national team for the 2026 World Cup. This will be the 41-year-old forward's sixth and final World Cup appearance. In the tournament, Portugal is placed in Group K alongside the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uzbekistan, and Colombia.
