Wasarin, known by her nickname "Tokyogurl", cheated during Thailand's 0-3 loss to Vietnam in the Arena of Valor event on 15/12/2025. The Thailand Esports Federation (TESF) determined that the female athlete used unauthorized third-party software, allowing another person to play remotely. "Cheerio", whose nickname is "Kong", was identified as the accomplice to Wasarin.
Both were arrested on 13/2 on serious charges under the Computer Crime Act, after the CIB gathered sufficient evidence of their cheating.

At the esports competition room at Chulalongkorn University, referees noticed irregularities when "Tokyogurl" approached the gaming station and independently manipulated device settings before the match. According to the organizers, esports leaves clear technical traces on devices, meaning all login and setup actions can be traced. Referees recorded the presence of two login accounts within the same application and preserved all images and data as evidence.
Wasarin was immediately disqualified from the Games. The Thai Arena of Valor team also voluntarily withdrew. On 2/1, Cheerio posted a video on Tiktok, admitting complicity.
The CIB's investigation revealed that the criminal plan was meticulously prepared. First, Wasarin provided Cheerio with login credentials to play on her behalf. On the official match day, Wasarin secretly swapped phones, as the device provided by the organizers could detect cheating. Wasarin pretended to log in but actually accessed Discord to share Cheerio's screen, who was playing instead. However, a technical issue thwarted the plan, forcing Wasarin to play herself, leading to her being caught in the act.
On 4/2, Thai police searched three locations in Nonthaburi and Nakhon Phathom. They found important evidence, including phones, IP addresses, and detailed chat logs about the planning. Following interrogation, Wasarin and Cheerio confessed to all charges.
Two days later, the CIB forwarded the case to the prosecutor's office for prosecution at Pathumwan District Court. The court is expected to deliver its verdict on 17/3.
The CIB stated that unauthorized access to the esports tournament server not only violates sports regulations but also constitutes a criminal offense punishable by imprisonment and fines. Offenders also face a lifelong criminal record. "Athletes representing the country should not let greed and selfishness harm the nation's reputation," a CIB report read.
The incident severely impacted the image of Thai esports, becoming one of the prominent scandals of an already controversial 33rd SEA Games.
Before her arrest by the police, publisher Garena banned "Tokyogurl" from all Arena of Valor tournaments, effective from 16/12/2025. Her managing team TALON also confirmed the immediate termination of her contract. RoV Esports organizers applied the highest disciplinary measure by issuing a lifetime ban on "Tokyogurl", concluding one of the most serious scandals in Thai esports history.
