After a hard-fought 3-2 comeback victory against Indonesia, Vietnam had two rest days before facing Iran. Against an opponent ranked 13 places lower (28th versus 41st), the Vietnamese team dominated play. Captain Thanh Thuy was moved to the opposite hitter position, while Dinh Thi Thuy and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh formed the outside hitter duo.
Vietnam made some first-pass errors but compensated with effective blocking. After winning the first two sets 25-19 and 25-20, Vietnam faced a challenge in the third set, falling behind. However, quick adjustments by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet allowed the players to regain control and secure a 27-25 comeback win.
This one hour and seven minute victory solidified Vietnam's position at the top of Group B with 11 points. Captain Thanh Thuy delivered an outstanding performance, contributing 21 points, including 19 attack points and two blocks, achieving a 51% efficiency.
