Vinicius's 70 Million Euro Value Slide

Vinicius's transfer value has decreased from 200 million to 130 million EUR in two years, contrasting with the rising trajectories of Yan Diomande and Arda Guler, while Lamine Yamal continues to lead La Liga's valuations.

In October 2024, Vinicius reached a valuation of 200 million EUR (224 million USD), placing him on par with Erling Haaland as the world's most expensive player. This period also marked the peak of the Brazilian forward's career. He had just won the Champions League with Real Madrid, was named the tournament's best player, and secured FIFA's The Best award, despite missing out on the Ballon d'Or.

Two years later, Vinicius's value dropped to 130 million EUR, a 35% decrease, according to the latest update from the player valuation platform Transfermarkt. This decline, however, does not solely stem from his professional statistics.

In the 2024-2025 season, Vinicius scored 22 goals and provided 19 assists. He further improved his performance in the 2025-2026 season, tallying 33 goals and 14 assists. These numbers demonstrate the Brazilian forward's sustained ability to directly contribute to goals.

However, player valuation is not solely based on goals or assists. Real Madrid's collective achievements, Vinicius's performances for the Brazilian national team, and particularly the perception of his form all influence how the market assesses his value.

"Despite still possessing impressive statistics, Vinicius no longer creates the sense of dominance he did when he was considered the world's most valuable player. This is one reason his valuation has consistently decreased," reported Spanish newspaper Marca.

In contrast, Vinicius's teammate, Yan Diomande, recorded the sharpest price increase in La Liga in Transfermarkt's latest update, rising by 30 million EUR. The Ivorian forward climbed to sixth among the league's most valuable players, despite only two starts for Real Madrid and no goals scored.

Diomande's 120 million EUR valuation extends beyond his on-field displays. Transfermarkt also considers his age, development potential, and the fee the market is willing to pay for a player. For Diomande, all these factors are currently favorable, creating an impressive price surge.

Similarly, another young talent at Real Madrid continues to rise. Arda Guler is now valued at 100 million EUR, an increase of 10 million EUR from the previous update. His progress is no longer just based on expectations of potential; it is gradually being proven by his on-field performances. This season, the Turkish midfielder has appeared in all seven La Liga matches, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Thanks to the rise of Diomande and Guler, Real Madrid now has five players among La Liga's top ten most valuable. Kylian Mbappe leads the Royal team with 200 million EUR, followed by Jude Bellingham (160 million), Vinicius (130 million), Diomande (120 million), and Guler (100 million).

Despite this, Real Madrid has yet to surpass Barca in the race for the league's most valuable player. Lamine Yamal continues to dominate La Liga's valuation chart with 220 million EUR, 20 million more than Mbappe and 60 million more than Bellingham. Barca's winger has maintained the valuation he achieved last summer, affirming his status as the league's highest-valued player at just 19 years old.

In addition to Yamal, Barca has three other representatives in the top ten. Pedri maintains a valuation of 150 million EUR, while Fermin Lopez rose to 110 million from 70 million in December. Young center-back Pau Cubarsi also features among the top ten most valuable players with a valuation of 100 million EUR.

Overall, Real Madrid occupies five positions and Barca holds four representatives in La Liga's top ten most valuable players. The notable change lies not only in the competition between Spain's two largest clubs but also in the generational transition, as young talents increasingly hold a high position in the transfer market.
