On 20/1, Nguyen Ba Linh, director of the Ho Dynasty Citadel and Key Relics Management Board of Thanh Hoa province, announced the reopening of the Ba Trieu National Historical-Scenic Site. This site, which includes Nua Temple, Nua Mountain, and Am Tien, has resumed operations after completing the handover, reception, and renovation of some facilities.

Sightseeing and incense offering activities have returned to normal. Authorities are evaluating specific plans for folk rituals and shuttle services from the mountain's base to Ngan Nua peak, aiming to implement suitable and safe options, Linh stated.
Commercial and food services are currently suspended following the demolition of illegal kiosks around the Am Tien spiritual site. Visitors to Nua Mountain for incense offerings and sightseeing should bring their own food, water, and other essentials for extended stays. Accommodation services are also unavailable.
The Am Tien site was reopened to meet the demand from locals and tourists during the Lunar New Year (Tet) and early spring Binh Ngo 2026, Linh explained.
In the coming months, the Ho Dynasty Citadel and Key Relics Management Board of Thanh Hoa province will collaborate with local authorities and relevant agencies. Their efforts will focus on continued renovation of the grounds, relocating unsuitable trees, and improving other facilities at this national site.
The Am Tien site had temporarily closed in late 12/2025, halting all sightseeing and spiritual activities for renovation. This closure, directed by the Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, aimed to resolve long-standing issues and promote sustainable management and preservation of the site.

Nua Temple - Am Tien, a National Historical-Cultural Site, sits atop Ngan Nua mountain, encompassing Tan Ninh, Mau Lam, and Trung Chinh communes. Historical records indicate this sacred land is linked to Ba Trieu, who led an uprising against the Eastern Wu invaders in 248.
The central point of Ngan Nua peak is widely regarded as one of Vietnam's three sacred "spiritual acupoints." Locals believe it is a place where heaven and earth harmonize and spiritual energy converges, alongside Da Chong Mountain in Hanoi and Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh province.
