Ba Den mountain, nearly 1,000 m high, is known as the "roof of Southern Vietnam". It features ba large, intricately crafted Buddha statues: the statue of Duc Phat Cau Na Ham Mau Ni at the highest point (7,2 m); the statue of Phat Ba Tay Bo Da Son (72 m) at the center of the complex; and the statue of Bo Tat Di Lac (36 m), aligned with the Phat Ba statue.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, by late 7/2025, Tay Ninh province welcomed nearly 5,1 million visitors. Approximately 4 million of these visitors used the cable car to reach Ba Den mountain's peak. From early 2026 to date, visitor numbers to Ba Den mountain have increased by 20% compared to the same period in 2025.
golden-coated Buddha statue
The statue of Duc Phat Cau Na Ham Mau Ni was installed on Ba Den mountain's peak in 12/2025. This figure represents the thu nam Buddha among the 7 past Buddhas in Buddhist culture. The statue stands 7,2 m tall, crafted from red copper and covered with 24k gold leaf.
Surrounding the statue is Uu Dam waterfall, formed by 32 golden columns symbolizing the 32 auspicious marks of the Buddha. The waterfall flows into a golden lotus pond, representing wishes for prosperity.

The statue is seated in the lotus posture on a lotus pedestal, with its right hand performing a teaching mudra and its left hand holding a fig, an image associated with the Uu Dam tree during the Buddha's enlightenment journey. According to Buddhist texts, a rain of gold fell on the day of the Buddha's birth, leading to his name Kanakagamana, which in Sanskrit means "one who comes from gold" or "the golden one". Following its installation in late 2025, the statue attracted many pilgrims during the early months of the year.

In Buddhist culture, the image of Phat Ba is closely associated with the Linh Son Thanh Mau belief among Southern Vietnamese people. The name Tay Bo Da Son originates from the Sanskrit concept of "Bodha", meaning the place where a Bodhisattva manifests.
Maitreya statue made from 6,688 sandstone blocks
The statue of Bo Tat Di Lac, 36 m high, 45 m wide, and weighing over 5,112 tons, was assembled from 6,688 natural sandstone blocks, inspired by terraced fields, and installed in 2024. The construction utilized large stone carving techniques, reminiscent of the ancient Egyptian pyramids.
The Bo Tat Di Lac statue is situated at an altitude of nearly 1,000 m in a seated posture, with a bright smile on its face, facing east. From this vantage point, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Southern Vietnam delta and Dau Tieng lake, one of Vietnam's largest artificial lakes.
