Fireworks light up the Viet Tri sky before Hung Kings' Commemoration Day

Thousands of residents and tourists gathered at Van Lang Park on the evening of 25/4 to witness a high-altitude fireworks display, welcoming the main day of the Hung Temple festival.

High-altitude fireworks illuminated the sky above Van Lang Park lake, Viet Tri ward, at 21h on 25/4, kicking off the festival night before the official Hung Kings' Commemoration Day ceremony. The 15-minute display attracted thousands of residents and tourists.

Thousands of people gathered around Van Lang Park lake early, fostering a lively atmosphere as part of the 2026 Ancestral Land Culture - Tourism Week, which began in early March of the lunar calendar.

Multicolored firework bursts continuously bloomed, reflecting on the lake's surface to create a dazzling scene in the center of Viet Tri ward on the night before Hung Kings' Commemoration Day.

Roads around the lake, such as Nguyen Tat Thanh, Tran Phu, and Hai Ba Trung, were packed with people and vehicles, leading to localized congestion as crowds flocked to watch the fireworks.

The fireworks display was organized by the Military Command of Phu Tho province in coordination with the Ministry of National Defense's fireworks factory. Earlier, the festival featured traditional rituals such as: offering incense to commemorate the Hung Kings, commemorating National Ancestor Lac Long Quan, offering incense to Ancestral Mother Au Co, and a palanquin procession to Hung Temple.

Residents captured the fireworks moments with their phones. Many families brought young children, viewing this as a familiar activity during each Hung Kings' Commemoration Day.

The fireworks display was a highlight in the series of festival activities, encompassing both ceremonial and festive parts with many cultural, sports, and tourism events taking place across the province.
