In addition to rooms priced at thousands of USD per night, 5-star hotels expand their revenue streams through a range of luxury services. Major brands like Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons invest in private yacht fleets, catering to ultra-wealthy guests seeking sea vacations rather than just staying at resorts.
The Ritz-Carlton's Luminara yacht, launched earlier this year, accommodates 452 guests and features a spa, gym, and high-end fashion boutiques. A one-week journey on the vessel, from Monte Carlo, Monaco, to Rome, Italy, can cost over 78,000 USD for luxury suites.

On land, room rates are equally striking. At the Ritz-Carlton Maldives resort, the most expensive room costs nearly 4,300 USD per night, while at the Eden Roc hotel, it reaches almost 10,000 USD.
Beyond accommodation, Aman Resorts, a Swiss luxury hotel brand, also offers private jet tours. These journeys span nearly three weeks, taking up to 18 guests across 7 countries, including Vietnam, with prices provided upon request.
At the Grand Hotel Tremezzo by Lake Como, Italy, souvenirs can cost hundreds of USD. Eden Roc goes further, selling custom-designed speedboats for 600 million USD.
Some brands also extend into home furnishings. Soho House, for instance, not only rents rooms for thousands of USD per night but also sells luxury decor. A small cocktail cabinet can cost over 23,000 USD for non-members.
Experts suggest that service diversification enables 5-star hotels to maximize profits and transform their brands into a lifestyle, rather than merely a temporary place to stay.
