The Huong Pagoda Tourism Cooperative suspended two boat operators on 23/2 for violating the 2026 festival regulations. The suspension, effective until 11/5 when the festival concludes, aims to address misconduct and enhance visitor experience.
The cooperative's action followed a complaint on 20/2, submitted via the iHanoi application, where a tourist reported that boat operator Pham Thi Ha demanded an additional 300,000 dong despite the group having pre-purchased tickets. Ms. Ha admitted to unauthorized charges and inappropriate behavior. Separately, boat operator Nguyen Thi Anh faced penalties for independently transporting passengers, bypassing the cooperative's operational management.

To further curb unauthorized fees and encroachment on heritage sites, festival organizers have established a rapid response team. This team receives complaints through a dedicated hotline and a digital application.
This year's regulations set the main route boat ticket prices at 85,000 dong for each adult and 50,000 dong for each child. Additionally, all scenic site entrance tickets are free for visitors.
The Huong Pagoda Festival is taking place from 18/2 to 11/5. The festival encompasses the entire Huong Pagoda Special National Relic site, featuring 4 tour routes and 20 temples, pagodas, and caves dedicated to Buddha worship. Beyond the popular Thien Tru - Huong Tich route, visitors can explore additional sites such as Thanh Son Pagoda, Huong Dai Cave, Long Van Pagoda, Cay Khe Pagoda, Nguoi Xua Cave, and Tuyet Son Pagoda.
From 17/2 to 21/2 (the first to the fifth day of Tet), approximately 136,000 visitors attended the festival, marking a 138% increase compared to the same period last year.
