Ngo Lan Huong, Han Sara eager to explore Thanh Hoa's cuisine

Singers Ngo Lan Huong and Han Sara will enjoy many delicious dishes and learn about Thanh Hoa's culture and history in episode 4 of "Sao Chon" airing this weekend.

Ngo Lan Huong and Han Sara are the guests for episode 4 of the reality show "Sao Chon", which takes place in Thanh Hoa and focuses on the theme "Rich Flavors of the Sacred Land". As a native of Thanh Hoa, Ngo Lan Huong looks forward to introducing audiences to rustic dishes, authentic flavors, and the individuals who are diligently preserving the essence of the local cuisine.

From the Song Ma river, celebrated in poetry, to the ancient Ho Dynasty Citadel, the historical Lam Kinh region linked to the Lam Son uprising, and the coastal villages, each location holds a unique imprint. The pace of life in Thanh Hoa is simple, reflected in its customs, dialect, and traditional homes.

"Sao Chon" also offers Han Sara, a singer raised in Korea, an opportunity to better understand Vietnamese cuisine, culture, and beauty in general, and Thanh Hoa in particular. She had previously heard colleagues speak of local specialties such as banh cuon, nem chua, banh khoai tep, eel dishes (eel porridge, eel vermicelli, braised eel), cha tom, and oc mut.

Episode 4 of "Sao Chon" will air at 21h on sunday, 18/10, on the program's website, VnExpress newspaper's YouTube channel, and at 20h40 on VTV8. Following the Ha Noi leg, Tran Ngoc will continue as the host for the Thanh Hoa leg.

Ngo Lan Huong gained recognition through her cover videos on social media. She studied International Economics at the Foreign Trade University, Ha Noi. After attracting attention at The Voice of Vietnam 2017 competition, the singer pursued a professional artistic career, releasing songs such as "Anh muon dua em ve khong", "Yeu dung so dau", and "Tuoi 23".

Meanwhile, Han Sara has several music videos that have garnered tens of millions of views, including "Dem cuu" (composed by An Nhi), "Con gai khi yeu" (Only C), and "Minh hen ho nhau di" (Huynh Hien Nang). She also ventured into acting, playing the lead role of Ha An in the film "Sieu quay co bau" and releasing the web drama "Dung lam ban nua". Beyond her singing and dancing abilities, Han Sara attracts many fans with her appealing appearance and modern fashion style.

Host Tran Ngoc, with 16 years of experience, is familiar to audiences through shows like "Hay chon gia dung", "Duong len dinh Olympia", "Rung chuong vang", and "Cafe sang voi VTV3". His natural, humorous hosting style and positive energy will add appeal to the culinary reality show "Sao Chon".

In episode 2, themed "Spicy Flavors of the Port City, Rich Scent of the Sea", artists Quang Thang and Do Duy Nam, along with host Phi Linh, savored banh mi que, nem cua be, and banh da cua, and learned how to make red banh da at Nong Xa craft village in Hai Phong.

Episode one, the opening leg in Quang Ninh, themed "Delicacies Amidst Wonders", saw rapper Den, Tuan Cry, and host Phi Linh explore bun be be, banh cuon cha muc, canh sa sung la lot, and a six-dish sea sam feast.

The cultural culinary reality show "Sao Chon" is one of 17 initiatives for developing Vietnam's cultural industry in 2026. The show takes artists to 10 provinces and cities to discover unique dishes, learn about the stories behind ingredients, preparation methods, the people preserving traditional crafts, and local lifestyles.

With the message "Ten Thousand Miles of Vietnam - Ten Thousand Brilliant Flavors", "Sao Chon" aims to promote Vietnam's culinary heritage, landscapes, and people on digital media platforms. Subsequent episodes will air until the end of november, every sunday at 21h on the program's website, VnExpress newspaper's YouTube channel, and at 20h40 on VTV8.
