AirHelp, a prominent flight compensation company, released its "World's Best Airports 2025" rankings in July. Out of 250 airports, Noi Bai ranked 242nd with a score of 6.71 out of 10, while Tan Son Nhat ranked 248th with 6.21. Neither airport appeared in the 2024 list, which included 100 airports.
Noi Bai scored 6.4 for on-time performance, 7.2 for customer satisfaction, and 7.1 for food and shopping options. Tan Son Nhat received 6.1 for on-time performance, 6.6 for customer satisfaction, and 6.1 for food and shopping. Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat ranked 242nd and 248th respectively for on-time performance.
While Noi Bai's customer satisfaction and food and shopping scores surpassed those of Honolulu Daniel K Inouye International Airport (ranked 51st), its low on-time performance significantly impacted its overall ranking.
AirHelp ranked 250 airports from 68 countries based on three criteria: on-time performance (60%), customer satisfaction (20%), and food and shopping options (20%).
Cape Town International Airport in South Africa took the top spot this year with an overall score of 8.57 (8.6 for on-time performance, 8.7 for customer satisfaction, and 8.3 for food and shopping).

On-time performance was assessed based on arrival times within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival, using data from various sources, including government agencies, airports, and flight tracking providers.
Customer satisfaction data was collected through surveys regarding staff, wait times, accessibility, and cleanliness. Food and shopping options were evaluated based on dining and retail experiences. Each factor was rated from "very good" to "very bad" to calculate the final score. On-time performance was weighted most heavily due to its significant impact on passenger experience.
Based on annual flight volume, Doha Hamad International Airport led the group with over 250,000 flights, scoring 8.52/10. Panama City Tocumen International Airport topped the 125,000 to 250,000 flight category with 8.42/10. Cape Town excelled in the 65,000 to 125,000 flight group with 8.57/10. Durban King Shaka International Airport ranked highest in the under 65,000 flight category with 8.40/10.
Data was gathered from AirHelp's internal flight database and feedback from over 13,500 passengers across 58 countries, focusing on busy and popular airports from 1/6/2024 to 31/5/2025. While some airports were excluded due to insufficient data, the company asserts that the list offers a comprehensive overview of global airport performance.
In April, Skytrax released its top 100 world airport rankings for 2025, which included Noi Bai and Da Nang. Noi Bai International Airport rose 17 places to 79th. This is Noi Bai's 7th appearance on the Skytrax list. In 2024, it also ranked among the top 10 airports worldwide for wifi quality.
