According to data from the An Giang Department of Tourism, the province welcomed over 22.7 million visitors in the first 11 months, marking a 24% increase year-on-year and surpassing its annual plan by 8%. Phu Quoc, a special zone within the province, accounted for approximately 7.6 million visitors, representing a 35% rise from the same period last year and exceeding its annual target by almost 5%.
Focusing on international visitors, Phu Quoc welcomed over 242,000 arrivals in November, a three-fold increase compared to November 2024. Cumulatively over the 11 months, nearly 1.59 million international visitors arrived, marking an 1.8-fold increase over the same period last year and reaching 135% of its annual plan.

Nguyen Tien Dat, CEO of AZA Travel, stated that November is Phu Quoc's peak tourist season, making the surge in visitors to the island "understandable". However, he noted that Phu Quoc's robust tourism growth, significantly surpassing last year's figures and exceeding its annual target by 5% a month early, is primarily due to the local development strategy.
In the past, visitors to Phu Quoc had limited entertainment options, primarily swimming, exploring Duong Dong night market, visiting sites like Dinh Cau and a monastery, and taking a three-island tour. Now, a diverse range of entertainment and experiential activities are available from morning until night. These include safari visits, the Vui Phet night market, nightly fireworks displays, and real-life shows such as 'Kiss of the Sea' and 'The Quintessence of Vietnam'. Tourists can also take a cable car to Hon Thom for a resort experience.
Since 1/11, an additional airline has launched flights to the island, making travel to Phu Quoc increasingly convenient. The local authorities have also successfully addressed the issue of tourist scams, which is considered another key factor attracting visitors to the island.
