Tens of thousands of visitors ‘paint’ the national exhibition center red

Crowds of people wearing red and gold star shirts and accessories have been visiting and checking in at the national exhibition center for days.

Models of equipment, specialized vehicles, and green ecosystem exhibits draw particular attention. Each display tells a story of development and marks the country's progress. Visitors take the opportunity to capture memorable moments as they explore.

The "80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" national achievements exhibition has welcomed hundreds of thousands of visitors daily. The Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC), spanning nearly 260,000 m2, has become a popular check-in spot for people nationwide, who come to explore the exhibits and admire the building itself.

Most visitors wear red and gold star clothing and accessories, creating a vibrant atmosphere of national pride.

Hundreds of national flags flutter beneath the 24,000-ton steel dome of the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall, which stands 56 m high and has a diameter of 360 m. The vibrant red and gold backdrop and the blend of solemnity and pride make it a popular photo spot for young people.

Nguyen Van Phat, 73, from Soc Son, Hanoi (third from the right), poses with his group of retired veterans at the exhibition entrance. He said the group had planned their visit days in advance, purchasing matching shirts and banners, and arranging to watch the parade in the capital's center before visiting the exhibition. "I lived through the war, and now, witnessing these great achievements showcased here, I am incredibly proud," he said.

Dao Lan Phuong's group from Soc Son arrived early in the morning, carrying a banner that read "I love Vietnam." She shared that the spirit of patriotism truly resonated when she joined the lively crowd, all dressed in the same colors, evoking a profound emotion. It was a feeling unique to this important national holiday.

Kim Cuc and her friends from Long Bien chose conical hats with national flag stickers as their accessories. For them, the red and gold outfits were not just for photos but also a tribute. Cuc wanted to express her gratitude to the previous generations who sacrificed so she could live in peace today.

Many children also sported patriotic attire at the exhibition.

Phuong Loan, 63, and her group, dressed in Ao Dai and red and gold star accessories, captured memorable moments early in the day. She mentioned that this event only happens every 80 years, so everyone wanted to be there. For them, it wasn't just an outing but a lifelong memory.

Until 15/9, visitors have the chance to win attractive prizes from the organizers by checking in and sharing photos.

Visitors wearing red and gold and checking in at VEC during this holiday period can win prizes of up to 45 million VND, including film cameras and t-shirts. Participants need to share their photos publicly with the hashtags #dovanginVECarea #VEC and a lucky number of their choice.

The "National Achievements: 80 Years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness" exhibition, held from 28/8 to 15/9 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center, features 230 booths across nearly 260,000 m2. It showcases numerous products and images representing the achievements of 34 provinces and cities, 28 ministries, and prominent private and state-owned enterprises.
