On the afternoon of 7/10, thousands of white storks flew in large flocks, descending to feed in the fields or perch on grassy banks and trees at Bau Va field in Thuy Xuan ward. This field is located within a residential area, approximately one kilometer from Hue City center.

According to local residents, the storks began appearing three days prior, gathering in large numbers during early mornings and late afternoons to feed. This marks the first time residents have observed an estimated thousands of storks appearing together in this area.
When people or vehicles pass by, the flock simultaneously takes flight, circling in large groups overhead, drawing residents to watch and take pictures.
Nhat Anh, a 26-year-old local resident, stated that after seeing a video of the storks on social media, she came to the field to witness and photograph them firsthand.
"I have seen storks in Lang Co before, but this is the first time seeing a flock of thousands in the middle of the city; it is very interesting", Nhat Anh said.

The little egret (Egretta garzetta) is a bird species belonging to the heron family. They commonly inhabit wetlands, rice fields, tidal flats, riverbanks, and coastal areas. Their diet primarily consists of small fish, frogs, crustaceans, and insects. After harvest season, fields retaining natural food sources often become foraging and resting grounds for many bird species.
A representative from the Thuy Xuan Ward People's Committee stated that local authorities are developing plans to protect the stork flock through public awareness campaigns, urging residents not to hunt, trap, or scare the birds away.
