The accident occurred at Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park on 12/10, resulting in the death of Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, an Atlanta teacher, after he fell from the Goliath roller coaster.
Prior to Hassan's fatal ride, witnesses noted several irregularities, raising questions about the ride's safety. Two teachers, Tina Christiansen, 29, and Emily Nguyen, 30, had planned to ride the Goliath at 13h that day. However, management temporarily halted admissions for maintenance.
"They announced over the loudspeaker that the train had a problem and needed a few test runs for inspection," Christiansen recounted. She noted that a passenger boarded alone for a test ride in the front row. Christiansen recalled that she and Nguyen exchanged glances, agreeing that even for a substantial sum, they wouldn't dare work in such a role.
When they returned to the area later that afternoon, they found the scene cordoned off following Hassan's accident.

Passengers on Hassan's ride also reported unusual details. One female visitor mentioned the safety restraint making continuous noise.
"The safety restraint kept unlatching and relatching, making a clicking sound," she stated. Another witness said park staff checked the restraint, pushing it down four times. A passenger recounted that Hassan collided with the ride three times before falling into a haunted house below.
According to Cobb County police, the victim was found "unconscious and not breathing." Initial investigation indicates Hassan was ejected from his seat, striking other passengers before falling to the ground.
Before the accident, Hassan had narrowly escaped death twice, according to his sister, Andrea Clark, 35. In 2015, Hassan overcame cancer and survived a car fire just weeks before the tragedy. "It's unfair that someone who overcame so many challenges died this way," she remarked.
A Six Flags representative extended condolences to the victim's family, stating the company is cooperating with authorities to determine the cause. The company also temporarily closed 9 similarly structured roller coasters at 6 parks nationwide as a precautionary measure.
Six Flags is the world's largest regional amusement park corporation. The company operates a chain of parks across the US, Mexico, and Canada, offering family attractions for all ages, including roller coasters and animal interaction zones.
