A survey by VnExpress, involving nearly 20 major travel agencies across the country, indicates that Ha Long and Phu Quoc are the most popular tour destinations for the National Day holiday. Bookings for tours or combos, which include hotel rooms and airfares, to these two destinations represent 7-10% of total service reservations at travel companies.
Hoang Nghia Dat, Chairman of Maytrip Tourism Company, stated that Ha Long primarily attracts groups and families during this period. The destination's popularity stems from its diverse activities, convenient transportation, suitability for various age groups, and affordable prices, with a three-day, two-night tour starting from 3 million VND.
High demand has resulted in near-full occupancy for many hotels in Ha Long. Additionally, some travel companies, like Du Lich Viet, offer combined Quang Ninh - Yunnan road tours, contributing to a 30% increase in tour bookings compared to the previous year.

Phu Quoc stands out as the most prominent destination in the South, capitalizing on increased search interest, ample air ticket availability, and competitive pricing. Tran Thi Bao Thu, Marketing Communications Director at Vietluxtour travel company, noted a 60% rise in traveler interest for Phu Quoc this year.
Four-day, three-night Phu Quoc tours, flying Vietnam Airlines and starting from 7,3 million VND, attract a diverse range of travelers, including friend groups, families, and corporate clients. Mr. Dat added that Vietnam Airlines' competitive pricing, comparable to Vietjet, has boosted Phu Quoc tour sales. The destination's comprehensive and high-quality service infrastructure also provides a significant advantage, even during the current rainy season.

Data released in early August by travel service applications Agoda and Traveloka confirms Phu Quoc and Ha Long as among the top 10 most searched destinations by Vietnamese travelers for the National Day holiday.
Ho Thu Anh, a Hanoi resident, is preparing for a three-day, two-night trip to Ha Long during the National Day holiday. To secure accommodations and services, she booked her tour in early August. Her family opted for a short, nearby trip, allowing their children ample time to prepare for the new school year.
Conversely, some families, like Hanoi resident Ha Thu, chose more distant destinations due to competitive airfares. Ha Thu secured a one-way ticket from Hanoi to Phu Quoc on 30/8 for 1,2 million VND per person. Her husband will fly from TP HCM, with a one-way ticket costing 700,000 VND.
Beyond these two primary destinations, Vietnamese travelers also showed interest in other options for the National Day holiday. Middle-aged groups often gravitate towards traditional routes like the Mekong Delta, Con Dao, and Quang Binh - Quang Tri, offering experience-focused itineraries priced under 10 million VND. Nha Trang and Phan Thiet also attracted numerous combo bookings.
Northwest tours, including Sapa, Ha Giang, Ta Xua, and Cao Bang - Ba Be, also attracted attention, coinciding with the ripe rice season. These itineraries, typically two days, one night or three days, two nights, are priced from 1,9 million VND to 3,7 million VND. However, the mountainous regions faced significant weather challenges, with heavy rains increasing the risk of floods and landslides during this period.
Nguyen Van Tung, Director of Tay Bac Tourism, confirmed that the company's northern mountainous routes were significantly impacted by the adverse weather. Domestic tour bookings for the Northeast and Northwest regions saw a 50% decrease compared to the same period in 2025. Consequently, some travelers opted to drive themselves, choosing destinations within a 50-60 km radius of Hanoi, or booked accommodation packages for staycations.
Travel agencies observed several other trends for this year's National Day holiday: travelers did not uniformly opt for extended trips despite a five-day break. Instead, they increasingly considered total costs, travel time, weather conditions, and service quality, moving beyond mere tour price comparisons. Many companies reported a 10-30% increase in bookings compared to the previous year. This rise is primarily attributed to last year's holiday coinciding with Hanoi's A80 event, which saw many tourists and residents focused on city-based leisure activities.
