Selma Blair, 54 years old, was escorted by police from Delta Air Lines flight 938 after it landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York on the night of 11/10.
The crew had to restrain Blair after she attempted to open a plane door during the flight from Los Angeles to New York. When stopped, she punched one female flight attendant and bit another.

The pilot contacted air traffic control, requesting medical assistance upon landing, stating that flight attendants "had nosebleeds and bites."
"It appears the unruly passenger also hit her head on a bulkhead or something similar, so we will need to have her checked as well as require law enforcement intervention," the pilot stated.
Blair and one flight attendant were transported to Jamaica Hospital for medical examination. The actress was also accused of kicking a police officer in the ambulance and continuing to assault a nurse upon arrival at the hospital.

She was then taken to the Queens Detention Facility and charged with assault by a Queens court, with bail set at 20,000 USD.
Blair's lawyer stated that his client faced a "medical emergency" on the plane but did not provide further details. "Immediately upon landing, she received timely medical care and is currently in stable condition," the lawyer said.
Blair has previously shared her struggles with multiple sclerosis. In her 2022 memoir, she dedicated a chapter titled "Bite Me," discussing instances of biting others while intoxicated.
In 2016, she was removed from a plane on a stretcher while traveling with her 4-year-old son after experiencing "a complete loss of consciousness." Blair attributed this to consuming wine with medication.
Delta Air Lines declared a "zero-tolerance policy for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of passengers and crew is always our top priority."
