French authorities have requested billionaire Musk to appear in Paris on 20/4, though it remains unclear if he will attend. Paris has not yet provided details regarding the location or time the questioning is expected to take place.
However, the Paris prosecutor's office stated last week that the attendance of those invited for voluntary questioning "will not hinder the investigation".
This summons is related to an investigation, initiated in 1/2025, into allegations that the social network X's algorithm was used to "interfere in French politics".

The investigation was later expanded to include allegations that X's AI chatbot Grok disseminated information denying the Holocaust and sexually suggestive fake videos.
French prosecutors in February searched X's office in Paris, an action the social media giant condemned as a "politically motivated" raid and "an abuse of judicial power".
Paris prosecutors also summoned former X CEO Linda Yaccarino for questioning as "the de facto and legal manager of the X platform at the time of the events". Yaccarino resigned as X's chief executive last July after two years leading the company.
The French investigation comes after Grok faced backlash for users being able to sexualize images of women and children using simple text commands such as "put her in a bikini" or "undress her". In January, the European Union (EU) also investigated X over AI Grok generating sexualized deepfake images of women and minors.
