Iran executed two individuals accused of spying for Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, the country's judiciary announced on 20/4. Mohammad Masoom-shahi and Hamed Validi were put to death in the early hours of that day, according to Mizan Online, a news site affiliated with Iran's judiciary.
Both men were convicted of "moharebeh," a charge meaning "waging war against God," which carries the death penalty under Iranian law. They were also accused of collaborating with hostile groups and aiding the Israeli government through a spy network connected to Mossad.
This development comes as part of a broader crackdown by Iran since conflict with Israel and the US erupted on 28/2. During this period, Iran has announced the execution of several death row prisoners accused of working for Israeli intelligence.
Last week, counter-intelligence forces of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) arrested 4 individuals in Gilan province, northern Iran, on similar charges of working for Mossad. Authorities stated the suspects photographed important Iranian military and security sites, then sent coordinates via social media to Israeli intelligence.

The IRGC affirmed that Iranian intelligence and security forces are closely monitoring all activities related to individuals suspected of links to foreign intelligence agencies. The corps warned that any detected violations will face severe punishment.
In Sistan and Balouchestan province, Iranian security forces also announced the dismantling of several "terrorist groups" since the conflict began. An announcement from the IRGC's Quds special operations base in the region reported that 55 suspects were arrested and 13 others were "eliminated."
These groups were accused of planning sabotage operations in conjunction with US and Israeli airstrikes. Security forces seized a large quantity of weapons, including ammunition, rifles, explosives, and communication equipment. The IRGC stated the suspects intended to plant roadside bombs, attack military facilities, assassinate high-ranking officials, and identify critical infrastructure locations.
