The embassies of New Zealand, Canada, Norway, and Switzerland (the G4 group) today released a video showing their ambassadors playing football and experiencing Tet cultural traditions with Vietnamese children.
"We are once again delighted to celebrate Tet with the people of Vietnam. The beautiful game truly embodies the full spirit of Vietnamese Tet: connection, joy, and hope. Football connects everyone, regardless of age, background, or ability," said Norwegian Ambassador to Vietnam Hilde Solbakken.
New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam Caroline Beresford stated that this year marks her first Tet celebration in Vietnam. "This is a special moment for me personally. I wish all Vietnamese children and people peace, prosperity, and the confidence to pursue their dreams," she said.
During the Lunar New Year, the ambassadors and charges d'affaires of the G4 Group collectively send Tet greeting messages to the Vietnamese people. Last year, they sang the Vietnamese song "Nam qua da lam gi" with the Gio Xanh choir in front of the Cua Bac of Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
