During the meeting at the Thai Royal Palace on 28/5, King Maha Vajiralongkorn congratulated Vietnam on its socio-economic development achievements. He shared memories of previous visits to Vietnam and positive impressions of the country and its people, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The King highly appreciated the significance of the visit, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations and followed the upgrade of bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He affirmed that the visit would contribute to deepening bilateral relations.
General Secretary, President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam highly values the relationship between the two countries. He appreciated the strong development of bilateral relations over the past 50 years, particularly since the two countries established a strategic partnership in 2013 and upgraded it to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2025.

Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN and one of the largest investors in Vietnam.
General Secretary, President To Lam announced the results of his talks with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. During these discussions, both sides signed an action program to implement the comprehensive strategic partnership for the 2026-2031 period, covering important cooperation in defense, security, economy, science and technology, connectivity, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
The Vietnamese leader expressed hope that the King of Thailand would continue to show interest and support for promoting key areas of cooperation between the two nations.
General Secretary, President To Lam emphasized that Vietnam always values visits by members of the Thai Royal Family, especially the King's visits in 1992 and 1997 when he was Crown Prince. Vietnam considers these important milestones that contribute to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
The General Secretary, President thanked the Thai Royal Family for implementing many meaningful projects in Vietnam in education, community development, and social welfare.
The General Secretary, President also thanked the King and the Thai government for their continued interest and for creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Thailand to live stably and integrate actively into local society. He requested continued support for preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural values in Thailand, including memorial sites for President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese pagodas.
