Iran's judiciary news agency, Mizan, reported that Kurosh Keyvani was sentenced to death for providing Israel's Mossad intelligence agency with "images and information about sensitive locations in Iran". The execution followed the completion of legal procedures and approval by the Supreme Court.
Iranian media did not specify when or where Keyvani was arrested, nor the location of his execution.
Iran's Intelligence Ministry announced on 11/3 that 30 individuals, including one foreign national, had been arrested on charges of spying for the US and Israel. On 17/3, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated it had arrested 10 foreign nationals in Razavi Khorasan province, in the country's northeast, on espionage charges, though their nationalities were not disclosed.

Over the past few decades, Iran has executed numerous individuals accused of having ties to Mossad and assisting the agency in conducting operations within Iranian territory.
Following a 12-day conflict with Israel and the US in 6/2025, Iran intensified its crackdown on espionage, leading to the arrest and execution of many on such charges. International experts suggest that Mossad has built an extensive spy network in Iran over decades, recruiting corrupt officials, nuclear scientists, and dissidents to serve as agents, providing intelligence and identifying targets.
This latest execution occurred as the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran entered its 19th day, showing no signs of de-escalation. Over 2,000 people have died, primarily in Iran and Lebanon.
