On 25/9, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed agreement with Chinese President Xi Jinping, following Xi's call for all parties to reinstate the Islamabad memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran.

"Iran endorses this approach and emphasizes the importance of restoring the agreement, respecting the commitments made," the Iranian leader wrote on social media platform X.

On 24/9, President Xi urged Tehran and Washington to revive the 14-point agreement signed in June, a document expected to permanently end the conflict between the two sides.

The Chinese leader's remarks were made during a three-day visit to the US, where he held a summit with President Donald Trump, coinciding with the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

"I appreciate President Xi Jinping's thoughtful and responsible support for restoring the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, as well as efforts to resolve disagreements through dialogue and diplomacy," President Pezeshkian stated.

Earlier, on 24/9, during his address to the United Nations General Assembly, President Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran would "not kneel" before the US.

"We will never bow down or relinquish our inherent rights. We say no to nuclear weapons, and there are no limits to nuclear technology for peaceful purposes," he declared. "Our peace does not come from the battlefield."

He stressed that "the Iranian people's resistance will only intensify in the face of sanctions, pressure, or bullying," adding that adversaries "must provide the necessary security guarantees for the people and country of Iran."

However, just one day later, in an interview with Fox News, President Pezeshkian stated that Iran "does not wish to prolong" the conflict, but whether it ends or not depends entirely on the US.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi participated in a meeting with US envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law, on the sidelines of the General Assembly; however, negotiations between the parties have yet to yield a breakthrough.

The Islamabad agreement was signed by President Pezeshkian and President Trump on 18/6, setting a 60-day negotiation period aimed at a final peace agreement, concluding the conflict that erupted in February.

However, this memorandum of understanding collapsed after just 21 days, as both sides repeatedly targeted each other's strategic objectives in the region and accused the other of violating agreed-upon terms.
