Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian offered insights into the health of Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei during a rare interview with US media on 24/9, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York. Pezeshkian revealed he had a direct meeting and discussion with the supreme leader recently.
"I don't recall the exact date, but the meeting took place about one to one and a half months ago", Pezeshkian stated when questioned about Khamenei's health. "We spoke for about 7 hours".

Pezeshkian described the meeting, noting that they sat on the floor, leaning on pillows, and occasionally stood and walked around. "I did not observe any health or physical impediments for the supreme leader", the Iranian president confirmed.
He further stated that Supreme Leader Khamenei regularly consults with government officials and provides guidance on policy implementation. This reassurance comes amidst numerous rumors regarding Khamenei's health, as he has not appeared publicly since assuming power in early March.
US intelligence previously assessed that Khamenei was injured in a US-Israel airstrike on 28/2, but has continued to play a crucial role in shaping Iran's military strategy.

During the 24/9 interview, President Pezeshkian also addressed allegations of assassination plots, declaring that the Iranian government has never, either openly or secretly, pursued a policy to assassinate US President Donald Trump or members of his family.
The US and Israel have repeatedly accused Iran of plotting to assassinate President Trump. Last month, the US Secret Service stated it had obtained information about a video broadcast by Iranian state television, which appeared to contain threats against the life of Barron Trump, the president's youngest son.
