"As we announced yesterday, our concerns have been conveyed to the US", Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei stated at a press conference on 18/5. He added that discussions "are still continuing through Pakistani mediation".
Baqaei affirmed Iran's demands for an end to the conflict. These include the release of its frozen assets abroad and the lifting of long-standing sanctions. He emphasized that these points represent demands Iran's negotiating team has steadfastly defended in all negotiation rounds.
The spokesperson also highlighted a condition requiring the US to pay war reparations, describing the conflict as "illegal and baseless". Regarding the possibility of another military confrontation, Baqaei stated that Iran "is fully prepared for any situation".

In contrast, Iran's Fars News agency previously reported 5 US demands within the peace proposal. These demands include Washington not compensating for any damages incurred during the war, Tehran surrendering 400 kg of highly enriched uranium to Washington, and allowing only one Iranian nuclear facility to operate.
The US also refused to unfreeze Iran's frozen assets. Washington simultaneously demanded that Tehran cease military actions in all areas to facilitate dialogue.
Iran's Mehr News agency commented that "the US has not offered any specific concessions, but wants to achieve goals it failed to secure in the war". The agency warned that this approach would likely lead to a deadlock in negotiations.
US President Donald Trump announced on 17/5 that Iran "will have nothing left" if it does not act quickly, amidst the ongoing failure to reach a peace agreement. Hardline stances from both countries have intensified concerns about a potential resurgence of conflict.
On 18/5, President Trump confirmed that the US had planned to resume attacks on Iran on 19/5 but decided to postpone them following requests from Gulf countries.
