A court filing on 18/5 revealed President Donald Trump, his two sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, along with the Trump Organization, voluntarily withdrew their lawsuit against the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS) with "permanent effect." This action means the plaintiffs cannot file the same compensation claim in another civil lawsuit. The court filing did not provide details of any settlement.

Earlier this year, Trump, his two sons, and the Trump Organization filed the lawsuit against the IRS and the US Department of the Treasury. They sought $10 billion in damages after Charles Littlejohn, a former IRS contractor, leaked Trump's tax records and those of thousands of others to the press between 2019 and 2020.
The lawsuit's withdrawal follows a request made in April by President Trump's lawyers to a judge, seeking a 90-day postponement to discuss a settlement with the IRS.
US media recently reported that the Department of Justice is negotiating a deal with the President. Under this potential agreement, the federal government could contribute $1.7 billion to a fund designed to compensate Trump's allies who allege "unfair treatment by the Biden administration."
Trump's legal team and the IRS have not commented on this information.
