"If we see sincerity from their side, I believe both parties can reach an agreement", Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said in an interview published on 15/2, referring to ongoing negotiation efforts with the US.
Takht-Ravanchi stated Tehran is willing to compromise to achieve a deal with Washington, including diluting highly enriched uranium, but the US must lift the sanctions crippling Iran's economy.
When asked if Tehran would agree to transport over 400 kg of highly enriched uranium out of the country, the Iranian official did not rule out the possibility of a compromise. "It's still too early to say what will happen during negotiations", he noted.
Several countries, including Russia, have offered to take and process the uranium; however, Iran has so far refused.

The fate of Iran's stockpile of over 400 kg of 60% enriched uranium remains unclear. Nuclear inspectors last observed this stockpile on 10/6/2025, before Israel and the US reportedly targeted nuclear facilities in Iran.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Iran has enriched uranium to 60%, far exceeding the 3,67% limit stipulated in the expired nuclear agreement it signed with world powers in 2015. This figure is also close to the 90% needed to build an atomic bomb. US President Donald Trump has repeatedly called on Iran to completely halt uranium enrichment.
"Completely halting uranium enrichment is no longer an issue. For Iran, this is no longer on the negotiating table", Takht-Ravanchi stated.
Western countries have long accused Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons, while Tehran maintains its nuclear program is for civilian purposes. The US is deploying a significant military presence in the Middle East, aiming to pressure Iran into accepting a deal on its nuclear program.
Dialogue between the two countries on this issue resumed in Oman on 6/2. Switzerland announced on 14/2 that a second round of negotiations would be held in Geneva next week. Takht-Ravanchi, a member of the Iranian delegation attending the Oman dialogue, confirmed the second round of talks would take place on 17/2.
Fars News agency quoted a diplomatic official as saying that both sides will also discuss the possibility of US investment in Iran's energy sector.
