On 12/6, Saudi Arabia's Al Arabiya television cited a senior source stating that the Qatari delegation, returning from Tehran, had conveyed Iran's "acceptance" of the latest draft agreement between the US and Iran to end hostilities. CNN also cited sources familiar with the matter, confirming that the newest version of the peace agreement draft was delivered to the US by Qatari negotiators.
Qatari officials visited Tehran on 10-11/6 to resolve several key disagreements between the US and Iran, despite ongoing mutual attacks between the two nations. The source described the negotiations in Tehran as achieving "real breakthroughs", leading intermediaries to feel "cautious optimism" about the possibility of finalizing the document.
Axios, citing three sources, reported that three important disagreements between Iran and the US have been resolved. These include the mechanism for disbursing Iran's frozen assets, the method for reopening the Strait of Hormuz during a 60-day ceasefire, and the approach to conducting negotiations on Iran's nuclear program during that period.

According to sources, Iranian officials also informed several countries on 11/6 that the discussions in Tehran had reached an agreement in principle. However, the outcome of the negotiations still awaits final approval from Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
US President Donald Trump declared on 11/6 that "the Iran war is over today" during a campaign event supporting Georgia Lieutenant Governor Burt Jones. He stated that Washington and Tehran had agreed on a "very good memorandum" to prevent conflict, adding that the blockade on ships entering and leaving Iranian ports would remain in place until "this deal is complete".
"They have agreed to never possess nuclear weapons. That is what we have resolutely demanded and is the main goal of this process. That is 95% of the war's objective," Trump said.
On 11/6, President Trump announced the cancellation of a planned attack on Iran, citing progress in negotiations and asserting that Washington and Tehran were close to signing an agreement. He stated that the draft agreement had been "approved by Iran's highest leadership" and that both sides could sign a peace agreement this weekend in Europe.
However, the Iranian government has not yet confirmed reaching any agreement with the US. Mehr news agency quoted Iranian officials asserting that "no document like Mr. Trump said has been finalized".
Esmaeil Baghaei, spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Qatar and Pakistan are actively involved in mediation efforts. He noted, however, that recent US actions have affected diplomatic progress.
Baghaei added that Iran has only agreed to most of the draft agreement with the US but expressed concern that Washington might change its mind. He affirmed that Tehran would not concede on issues related to its "red lines". He emphasized that Tehran has not made a final decision on the agreement and that the Iranian government will issue an official statement once the relevant authorities complete their review of the draft document.
