Eight children died in a mass shooting that occurred at 6:00 a.m. on 19/4 (6:00 p.m. Hanoi time) in Shreveport, Louisiana, southern US. Police identified the incident as a case of domestic violence. The suspect, whose identity and motive have not been released, was shot and killed by police officers.
During a press conference following the incident, police officer Chris Bordelon stated that the scene was extensive, covering three homes. Investigators are currently collecting evidence. The children who died were aged one to 14, and some were the suspect's own children.

KTBS reported that two women were shot in the head, and their condition remains unknown. Additionally, a boy was injured after jumping from a roof to escape.
Sergeant Bordelon further stated that the suspect stole a car to flee the scene before being apprehended and killed by police. "We believe this man was the sole perpetrator of the shooting. It was a case of domestic violence," he added.
Local officials expressed their grief over the tragedy. "This is a horrific morning in Shreveport, and we all extend our condolences to the victims," Mayor Tom Arceneaux said at the press conference. Senator Bill Cassidy called it a "horrific act of violence", while Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry expressed sadness over the shooting.
Gun Violence Archive, an organization that tracks gun violence in the US, identified the incident in Louisiana as the deadliest mass shooting in over two years. By the organization's definition, a shooting is considered a mass shooting when there are at least four casualties, excluding the attacker.
