Tensions between Cambodia and Thailand escalated into clashes on 7/12, when soldiers from both nations exchanged gunfire along the disputed border. Over the past five days, both sides have used heavy weaponry, including F-16 fighter jets and multiple rocket launchers, targeting positions along the disputed border. This ongoing conflict has resulted in casualties among soldiers and civilians.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated today that Vietnam's representative agencies in Cambodia and Thailand issued a warning on 9/12. This advisory urged Vietnamese citizens to consider avoiding areas with complex security developments and to proactively plan to leave such areas to ensure the safety of lives and property. Furthermore, Vietnam advised citizens residing in Cambodia and Thailand to strictly comply with local government regulations and guidelines and to maintain contact with Vietnamese representative agencies.

The spokesperson confirmed that most Vietnamese citizens in the affected region have been successfully evacuated to safe zones, away from the conflict area, following the guidance of local authorities.
Vietnam has been in close contact with local functional agencies and Vietnamese community liaisons in both countries to gather information and prepare necessary citizen protection plans.
