President Luong Cuong addressed nearly 1,500 overseas Vietnamese from five continents at the Spring Homeland 2026 art exchange program in Hanoi on the evening of 8/2. He highlighted 2025 as a year of significant events and milestones for the nation.
Vietnam maintained the highest growth momentum in the region, ranking among the world's leading economies. The nation ascended to the group of the 32 largest economies and the top 15 trading nations globally. To date, Vietnam has established comprehensive strategic partnerships with all five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.
Despite facing natural disasters, a complex international situation, and a difficult global economy over the past year, the Vietnamese nation strongly affirmed and awakened its resilience, wisdom, will, and aspiration, the president emphasized.

He highly praised the role and contributions of the overseas Vietnamese community. He stressed that Vietnamese people across five continents not only integrated and affirmed their position in their host countries but also served as a bridge for friendship, cooperation, and development. They consistently look towards their homeland with responsible acts of sharing.
The president articulated, "wherever there are Vietnamese people, there is an aspiration to rise." This current of aspiration is one of the important factors for the Vietnamese nation's development and endurance.
"The Vietnamese aspiration crystallizes in peace and prosperity. Peace allows the nation to develop rapidly and sustainably, while prosperity ensures the people live increasingly abundant and happy lives," he said.
Before beating the drum to inaugurate the spring, the president called on all compatriots, both domestic and overseas, to continue promoting the strength of national unity. He urged them to work together wholeheartedly, contributing their wisdom, resources, and dedication to the cause of building and defending the homeland.
This event was part of a series of activities for the Spring Homeland 2026 program. It was organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the People's Committee of Hanoi.
This morning, President Luong Cuong and his spouse, along with a delegation of exemplary overseas Vietnamese, offered incense at the King Ly Thai To monument and released carp at Ngoc Son Temple. Earlier, the delegation visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and laid wreaths at the Monument to Martyrs on Bac Son Street, Hanoi.
The Spring Homeland program is regarded as an annual spiritual gift for millions of Vietnamese people living, studying, and working abroad. It provides an occasion for Vietnamese leaders to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of overseas Vietnamese worldwide, and to honor collectives and individuals who have made many contributions to the nation.
