The 48th ASEAN Summit will gather leaders of ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Secretary-General. This is one of the two annual regular meetings for ASEAN leaders in 2026.
As ASEAN Chair 2026, with the theme "Steering Our Common Future", the Philippines has set three major directions for ASEAN cooperation: strengthening key factors for peace and security, expanding corridors of prosperity, and promoting people's empowerment.
The Philippines proposed that this Summit focus discussions on three areas: ensuring energy security, food security, and the protection of ASEAN citizens. Manila affirmed its commitment to continue advancing strategic priorities: strengthening intra-bloc linkages, enhancing resilience and strategic autonomy, maintaining ASEAN's centrality, and sustaining momentum for Community building in line with the goals and plans of the ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
