The strategic alignment, comprehensive cooperation, special solidarity, and friendship between Vietnam and Laos continue to grow. Political ties deepen as both nations maintain regular high-level and various-level delegation exchanges.

Defense and security cooperation remains a pillar, closely linked and practical, implemented synchronously, comprehensively, and substantially. Economic, trade, and investment cooperation receives increasing priority, promoting enhanced strategic alignment. This focuses on connecting infrastructure for transport, energy, telecommunications, logistics, and integrating the two economies.

Vietnam-Laos trade turnover reached 1,3 billion USD, with efforts to achieve a target of 5 billion USD and aim for 10 billion USD in the coming years. Cooperation in education and training, human resource development, science and technology, culture, people-to-people exchanges, and collaboration between localities, especially border provinces, continues to receive attention.

The good neighborly relations, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia are developing with increasing depth and substance. Cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism provides a breakthrough impetus, with bilateral trade turnover achieving high growth. For the first eight months of 2026 alone, it reached 8,7 billion USD, an increase of 8,3% compared to the same period in 2025.

Tourist arrivals between the two countries reached approximately one million, with Cambodian visitors to Vietnam accounting for 565,000 people, a 40,8% increase in the first half of 2026. Cooperation in education, socio-cultural affairs, and people-to-people diplomacy is increasingly widespread.
