Ukrainian officials reported that at least two people died and one person was injured when Russia attacked the Kiev region. Ukraine's State Emergency Service stated that a fire broke out at a medical facility in Obolonskyi district, northern Kiev.
In a statement on 5/1, Russia's Ministry of Defense announced that its forces attacked Ukrainian defense enterprises, long-range UAV production and assembly workshops, UAV pilot training centers, and enemy force deployment points at 148 locations. However, Russia's Ministry of Defense did not provide specific details on the targets.
Russia and Ukraine have recently intensified attacks on each other's energy infrastructure and critical facilities amid a lack of progress in peace negotiations. Both countries have repeatedly accused the other of attacking civilian targets, while claiming they only target military objectives or facilities supporting the opponent's defense operations.
