During her visit on 1/6, Ngo Phuong Ly, spouse of General Secretary and President To Lam, learned about the history, mission, and activities of the Asilo de San Vicente de Paul center, which dates back to 1885. She also toured the traditional room, music room, and met with children receiving care at Asilo, according to TTXVN.
The children at the center crafted beaded bracelets with the words "Ngo Phuong Ly", "Vietnam", and "Philippines" as gifts for her. Ngo Phuong Ly shared that the young faces at the Asilo center reminded her of children in SOS children's villages, Birla children's villages, or social protection centers in Vietnam. These places not only provide a home but also rebuild the concept of family, where each child has a mother, siblings, and a supportive community.
She praised Asilo's sustainable and humane philanthropic philosophy and approach. The center provides not only shelter but also an educational and moral foundation, enabling children to become self-reliant.

Ngo Phuong Ly stated that her visit to the Asilo center was one of the most memorable and heartwarming experiences during her trip to the Philippines. She encouraged the children to always believe they are not alone and to study diligently, nurturing their dreams. She emphasized that circumstances do not define one's future; rather, will and aspiration determine it.
She hoped that once successful, the children would return to help others, continuing the flame of compassion passed on by the nuns and teachers at the center.
She presented gifts, including food and school supplies, along with a special painting created by disabled children in Vietnam from fabric scraps, intended for the children at the Asilo center.

The exhibition opened in mid-January to welcome diplomatic delegations and showcase Philippine creative excellence to the region and the world. This event coincides with the country assuming the ASEAN chairmanship in 2026.
Spanning approximately 8,000 m2, the exhibition space features over 2,000 products from nearly 200 businesses, ranging from interior design, fashion, and cosmetics to gifts and premium food items.
