"I have a DoorDash order for you, Mr. President," Sharon Simmons, a DoorDash delivery driver, told President Donald Trump outside the Oval Office at the White House on 13/4.
"Oh, that's great," President Trump replied, taking two paper bags with the McDonald's logo, his favorite fast-food brand. The US leader then turned to reporters outside and remarked, "This doesn't look staged, does it?"
The interaction took a personal turn when a reporter inquired about White House tipping practices. As Simmons began to answer, President Trump immediately interrupted her.
"Wait a moment," Trump said, reaching into his jacket pocket and taking out a 100 USD bill to tip Simmons.
"Yes, very generous," she said.
The White House later confirmed that President Trump personally handed the two bags of food, which included a cheeseburger and french fries, to West Wing staff.

According to DoorDash, Simmons began working for the company in 2022 and has completed over 14,000 orders.
President Trump clarified his choice of Simmons for the delivery, explaining that he heard she saved over 11,000 USD due to the tax-free tip policy. This policy is part of the Beautiful Act (OBBBA), which the US Congress passed in 7/2025.
"That's the biggest tax refund you've ever received, isn't it?" Trump asked.
"That's right. Yes, I saved over 11,000 USD. That was truly surprising," Simmons replied.
