President Donald Trump issued a stern warning today, stating he is prepared to restart airstrikes if Iran fails to "behave," despite a preliminary understanding between the two nations. "If I'm not satisfied, we will open fire again," he said before his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi at the G7 summit in France. "If they fail to behave, we will immediately bomb them directly, because they have not known how to behave for the past 47 years." He clarified that the understanding was "not the final version, it's only a memorandum," referring to an agreement expected to be signed between the United States and Iran in Switzerland on 19/6.

Iran has not commented on Trump's statement. Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, stated on 15/6 that the country remains "deeply suspicious" of the United States, even after the two sides reached a new agreement to end hostilities.
President Trump added that the memorandum with Iran does not include the immediate lifting of sanctions. Despite this, he praised the framework agreement, calling it "very strong." "While its exact contents are unknown, it is robust, and most people seem very satisfied," the President said.
According to Trump, the agreement with Iran will be a significant boost for markets. "Nothing is as sensitive as the market, and the market is more excited about it than anything I've ever seen," the US President stated. "Without it, the world would face a great depression." Oil prices on 17/6 neared their lowest point in three months, with President Trump predicting further declines, "even lower than before hostilities began."
The United States and Iran have agreed on a peace deal, though specific terms have not been publicly announced by either government. US media outlets on the same day published details of a 14-point agreement reached with Iran. This version largely mirrored what Iranian media reported a day earlier, including an immediate cessation of fighting on all fronts, the United States lifting blockades on Iranian ports, and the establishment of a USD 300 billion reconstruction fund.
"It is regrettable to admit that Iran's deep suspicion of the United States stems from a long history of misconduct by US leaders," Baqaei said, adding that Washington still has a long way to go to earn Tehran's trust.
