US Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz stated last week that President Donald Trump is scheduled to arrive in New York on the afternoon of 21/9 and attend "political events" at Trump Tower that evening. The head of the White House will address the United Nations General Assembly during the high-level debate on the morning of 22/9.

"The president will highlight how he and his administration address complex issues worldwide. He will also address the importance of ensuring Iran never acquires nuclear weapons," Ambassador Waltz said.

Nearly 130 heads of state are gathering in New York for the 81st high-level debate of the UN General Assembly, and Trump is set to meet with a series of world leaders.

Trump will attend a meeting with leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), with the Iran conflict as a central discussion point. The conflict, which has lasted over 6 months with no end in sight, risks escalating as Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen attack Saudi Arabia.

Afterward, Trump will host a reception for GCC leaders and is expected to have his first direct meeting with interim Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez at the event.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on 20/9 that he and the US President had agreed to meet in New York. The Ukrainian leader did not specify a time, but a source familiar with the matter said the meeting could take place on 22/9. The White House has not commented on this information.

Also on 22/9, Trump is scheduled to meet with UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. This will be the first time the head of the White House meets Burnham since he took office as UK Prime Minister on 20/7.

Additionally, Trump will meet Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi during the UN General Assembly session, Iraqi media reported.

The US President will then return to Washington, where he is expected to go to Andrews Joint Base airport to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping on 23/9. On 24/9, President Trump and First Lady Melania will host a welcoming ceremony for Xi and Madame Peng Liyuan on the State Floor of the White House, followed by an honor guard review in the Rose Garden and bilateral talks.
