White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated on 8/4 that the United States delegation, led by vice president JD Vance and including special envoy Steve Witkoff and negotiator Jared Kushner, would travel to Islamabad, Pakistan. They are scheduled to meet with the Iranian side on the morning of 11/4.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also confirmed Tehran's participation in talks with the United States in Islamabad this weekend during a phone call with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. According to Iranian news agency ISNA, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf will lead Iran's delegation.
"We are very much looking forward to meeting in person", Leavitt said. She confirmed that Iran had given an indication it would hand over enriched uranium. "This is a top priority for the President and the negotiating team as they enter the next rounds of discussions. That is a red line the President will not back down from", the White House press secretary added.

Iran's 10-point proposal for the negotiations will cover its nuclear program and regional security issues, ISNA reported. The upcoming talks follow a period of renewed tensions. On the morning of 8/4, the United States and Iran announced a two-week ceasefire and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. However, that same evening, Iranian media reported that the country was suspending vessel passage through the Strait of Hormuz and threatened to withdraw from the ceasefire agreement. This was attributed to continued Israeli attacks on Lebanon, home to the Tehran-backed Hezbollah group. The United States, meanwhile, warned Iran not to let the agreement collapse over Lebanon.
