US F-15 fighter catches fire, crashes in Kuwait

A US Air Force F-15E multirole fighter crashed in Kuwait, with the pilot safely ejecting.

Kuwaiti media reported today that a US F-15 fighter jet crashed in the country. The pilot, a US national, appeared uninjured in the incident. Video footage later posted on social media showed the F-15 spinning and free-falling with a fire on its back. Two pilots were seen ejecting, indicating it was an F-15E Strike Eagle combat aircraft, and they landed safely.

The US Air Force has not yet commented on the information regarding the incident.

The F-15E Strike Eagle is a multirole fighter developed by the United States in the 1980s. Its design is based on the two-seat F-15B heavy fighter.

This version was enhanced with high-precision ground attack capabilities, extending its utility beyond the air-to-air limitations of the original F-15 series. It is capable of conducting deep strike missions into enemy airspace without reliance on electronic warfare aircraft or escort fighters.
