This special chicken coop was sponsored by Carolina Coops, a North Carolina-based company specializing in high-end chicken coops. Matthew DuBoise, the owner and founder of the company, stated that the structure was custom-designed for Vice President JD Vance's family and was completed on 29/5.
DuBoise said the design team created a unique chicken coop that the Vance family would love at first sight. It mimics the US Vice President's actual home with its distinctive round tower and faux slate roof.
"This is a wonderful thing I can do for the country. The building is a historic place with special significance," DuBoise said.
After the project was completed, the vice president's family selected 12 chicks to start their flock. DuBoise recounted that when he saw the new chicken coop, Vance's face lit up. "They were very happy, and I was happy about that too," he said.

Informed sources stated that this project did not use taxpayer funds. Last weekend, a community event was held at the Vice President's residence, where local students taught younger children about the chicken coop.
The US Naval Observatory, spanning 29 hectares, is a top-secret US military complex, including large astronomical observatories and laboratories. Since 1977, every US vice president has resided at Number One Observatory Circle, a Victorian-style mansion located in the northeast corner of the property.
Successive vice presidents have left their family's unique mark on the house. While serving as vice president, Joe Biden had a garden built to preserve traditional plant varieties. Karen Pence, wife of former vice president Mike Pence, added beehives for honey production.
Former vice president Kamala Harris replaced the pink wallpaper in the house's library. Former vice president Dan Quayle had a heated swimming pool built in 1991.

According to a 2025 survey by the American Pet Products Association, about 11 million US households are raising chickens in their backyards, indicating a growing trend. During his 2024 campaign, Vance often cited rising egg prices as a symptom of inflation under the Biden administration. He also once joked that his two young sons "eat about 14 eggs every morning".
