On 26/6, Suzuki Vietnam launched the 2025 Swift, the fourth generation of the model, featuring design, engine, and equipment updates compared to its predecessor.
While the body shape remains, exterior details are refreshed. The grille features a wider mesh pattern, a gloss black finish, and a radar for the active safety system. The logo is separated from the grille and repositioned on the hood.

The trunk offers 265 liters of space, 54 liters more than the previous version.
The headlights integrate sleek L-shaped daytime running lights. Fog lights have been removed, creating a seamless front bumper design. The taillights retain the C-shape but are inverted compared to the previous version.
The car measures 3,860 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a 2,450 mm wheelbase and 115 mm of ground clearance. This makes it 15 mm longer and 5 mm lower than the previous generation, while other dimensions remain largely unchanged. The trunk capacity is 265 liters. The rear door handles are now in the traditional position, rather than near the C-pillar as in the previous generation.
The 2025 Swift's interior has also seen some changes. The 10-inch screen of the previous generation has been replaced with a 9-inch floating screen atop the dashboard, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. The air conditioning controls have been redesigned and now include heated front seats. The instrument cluster remains a combination of analog gauges and a small digital display. Other features are largely unchanged, including fabric seats, a handbrake, a D-Cut steering wheel, and a 6-speaker sound system.
The 2025 Swift features a mild-hybrid powertrain, consisting of a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder gasoline engine producing 82 horsepower and 108 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission. This is supplemented by a 3.1 horsepower electric motor providing 60 Nm of torque and a 3 Ah lithium-ion battery. This system is similar to the XL7 hybrid, where the electric motor only assists the gasoline engine during acceleration and cannot operate solely on electricity. According to the manufacturer, the 2025 Swift achieves a fuel consumption of 4.26 liters/100 km, an improvement over the previous generation's 5.19 liters/100 km.
Both active and passive safety features have been significantly upgraded in the 2025 Swift. It now boasts six airbags, electronic stability control, and an ADAS driver-assistance system. This system includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a rearview camera.
The 2025 Swift is available in a single trim, priced at 569 million VND for a single-tone exterior and 577 million VND for a two-tone exterior. The car is imported from Japan. This price is higher than the previous Thai-imported version, which was priced at 560 million VND. Deliveries are expected to begin in August. The Swift's competitors include the Mazda2 (537-544 million VND) and the Wuling Bingo (399-469 million VND).
The Swift, with its distinctive styling, has been the most unique model among Suzuki's offerings in Vietnam. However, in the current market, where SUVs are favored in the price range near 600 million VND, a hatchback faces significant challenges. In this segment, even the previously prominent Toyota Yaris has exited the market.
