A traffic accident involving a group of students cycling abreast and multiple motorbikes left 7 people injured on 19/11 in Mai Son. The incident occurred during rush hour when students were riding bicycles side-by-side, chatting and occupying both lanes of a two-way road. As they approached a bend, a motorbike traveling in the opposite direction at high speed collided with one of the bicycles at the apex of the curve. The initial impact caused two vehicles to be thrown and slide onto the road, subsequently leading to collisions with two other motorbikes. A total of 7 individuals on 4 motorbikes were involved in the accident; the extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
This incident highlights the dangers of unsafe road behavior. Students should not cycle abreast on the road, as it endangers themselves and obstructs traffic for other road users. Furthermore, all vehicles must reduce speed when approaching bends to prevent unexpected situations and ensure safety.
