Skoda has named its long-anticipated 7-seater electric vehicle, which is expected to debut this summer. The Peaq embodies the Vision 7S concept from 2022 and has been refined for production. The vehicle targets families seeking spacious comfort without the premium budget associated with luxury brands.
While the Czech automaker has only revealed the logo and some design lines of the new product, the Peaq is expected to closely follow the concept's style. This includes a boxy shape, a closed front end instead of a traditional grille, flush door handles, and distinctive T-shaped lights at both the front and rear. It is a large vehicle by European standards, measuring approximately 5 meters long and featuring three rows of seats.

The Peaq will utilize the Volkswagen (VW) Group's MEB platform, the same architecture used for models like the smaller Skoda Enyaq and the VW ID. Buzz and ID. 7. The concept version was equipped with an 89 kWh battery and promised a range of over 600 km under the WLTP cycle; the production version is expected to achieve a similar figure.
Rear-wheel drive versions and more powerful all-wheel drive variants will offer approximately 335 horsepower.
Skoda acknowledges that the Peaq will be its most expensive model, positioned above the Enyaq. However, it will still be positioned as a value option compared to rivals such as the Kia EV9, Volvo EX90, and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

In Europe, Skoda's Elroq and Enyaq are among the best-selling electric vehicles. The new version of the Elroq frequently ranks second in sales, while the Enyaq maintains its position, often ranking sixth, contributing significantly to Skoda's success in the growing electric vehicle market.
The automaker is not only focusing on Europe but also expanding into new markets like India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The establishment of distributors and showrooms in Saudi Arabia, along with plans for local production in Asia, including Vietnam, demonstrates its ambition for rapid expansion beyond traditional markets. This manufacturing presence will help reduce logistics costs and create a competitive price advantage in the Southeast Asian market. This strategy allows the company to mitigate risks from a saturated European market and capitalize on growth in emerging regions.
