VinFast launches four electric scooters, operates 4,500 battery swapping stations

VinFast introduced three electric scooters with swappable batteries and one new pedal-assisted model, completing the installation of the first 4,500 battery swapping stations on 15/1.

Three VinFast electric scooter lines, the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper, feature swappable batteries that can be quickly removed and replaced in minutes. The new Amio model, designed with external pedals, is compact, requires no driving license, and targets students.

Among these, the Viper is a new, sporty model designed for male urban commuters. This two-wheeled electric scooter includes features such as a smartkey, GPS support, remote vehicle location, remote on/off control, and LED projector headlights. Notably, the Viper has a rear shock absorber with an auxiliary oil reservoir, promising a smooth ride.

The company equips this model with a BLDC inhub motor, delivering a maximum power of 3,000 W and a top speed of 70 km/h. The official selling price has not yet been disclosed.

The other two swappable battery models, the Feliz II and Evo, are familiar in the market. Their designs are similar to current versions, differing only in their quick battery removal and swapping capabilities. The Feliz II uses a motor similar to the Viper, while the Evo is equipped with an inhub motor producing 2,450 W. Both reach a top speed of 70 km/h. The Evo also offers a Lite version, limited to 50 km/h, which does not require a driving license.

VinFast's three new models feature two battery trays in the storage compartment, allowing users to optimize space. The batteries for these models have a 1.5 kWh capacity and use LFP technology. Users can purchase batteries or rent one for 175,000 VND or two for 300,000 VND per month. The fee to swap a fully charged battery at a station is 9,000 VND per battery per swap.

According to the company, with two fully charged batteries, the VinFast Evo can travel up to 165 km, while the Viper and Feliz II can cover 156 km. Pre-orders for the Evo model are open from 15/1 to 29/1, priced at 19.99 million VND. Early customers receive a one million VND discount, with deliveries expected from February.

The pedal-assisted Amio electric scooter features an inhub motor with 800 W of power, a top speed of 30 km/h, and an LFP battery with a 1.024 kWh capacity. VinFast states the Amio can travel up to 65 km on a single full charge.

As of 15/1, V-Green completed the installation of the first 4,500 battery swapping stations and plans to increase this number 10 times nationwide in Quarter I. With approximately 45,000 battery swapping cabinets across the country, V-Green's infrastructure will be 1.5 times larger than the current number of gasoline and oil stations. This expansion aims to support residents in their transition from gasoline to electric vehicles.

VinFast is offering promotions for all its electric scooter lines under the "Manh liet vi tuong lai Xanh" (Strongly for a Green Future) program. These include: 0 VND installment payments, a 6% reduction in selling price, and a waiver of the 2% vehicle registration fee from 12/1 to 12/4. Additionally, VinFast electric scooter users will receive free charging at V-Green stations until 31/5/2027.

For the new swappable battery electric scooters, users receive free battery swaps for the first six months. Drivers operating on the Xanh SM Platform will receive free swaps for the first 12 months from the date of vehicle purchase.
